Business Names

Under Australian consumer legislation, it is a requirement that a person register their business name in each of the states of Australia where they operate their business if their business name is not a company name or their own name.

We can register a client’s business name in each of the states in which they operate their business.  A business name does not provide a person with any proprietary rights in the name and we strongly recommend that they consider filing a trademark application for their business name if the business name is to be used in marketing or as an indicator of the provided goods or services.

We offer a trade mark business pack where we assess a proposed name for trade mark registration and availability for domain name registration and optionally business name registration; prepare and file a trademark application; register the domain name and optionally the business name.
